The short version: Stay. FIVE Jumeirah Village is a cylindrical 350-room luxury lifestyle hotel in Dubai’s Jumeirah Village Circle that knows exactly what it is: an adults-focused party property with strong food and drink outlets, a busy pool scene, a serious late-night nightclub, and rooms that punch well above what you might expect from the rate. Staff at the front desk, on security, and in portering were a clear strength during my stay. The negatives are real but contained: a faint smell of cigarette smoke in some bedrooms, the cylindrical building’s slightly awkward back-of-house corridors, a chilly main pool when the sun isn’t out, and a family pool that was closed for the visit. Families can stay here but it’s not the property’s centre of gravity. For a couple, a solo traveller, or a short business stay it’s an easy recommendation. Visited 28 April to 1 May 2026 as a three-night solo business stay.

First impressions and arrival
The building announces itself from a long way out. FIVE Jumeirah Village is a tall cylindrical tower that stands clearly in the Jumeirah Village Circle skyline, which makes it easy to spot from the road and gives the upper-floor rooms genuinely good city views. The arrival is well staged. There are two ground-floor entrances but only one is in use, and a row of fancy cars sits out front (FIVE leans into that aesthetic). The lobby is calm, with a salon and a tour desk close to the door, and reception slightly further in.
I was checked in by a front-desk team member called Yougharta who did an excellent job, including securing an upgrade for very little, which I appreciated. On the way through the lobby I was also welcomed by Benjamin on security: a warm, present, friendly presence with a real sense of hospitality. (I’m Benjamin too. He outranks me on physical presence by some margin.) The staff impression at the door and the front desk set the tone for the rest of the stay.
The pool and the poolside vibe
The main outdoor pool is on the fifth floor and is the social heart of the property. Plenty of seating, deck chairs, a small number of cabanas, and Mimi’s pool bar staffed and pouring through the day. The music is loud, the sun is hot, the drinks are flowing. If you’ve come for a Dubai pool day this is the right kind of energy.
One honest note on the water. The main pool runs chilly. On a hot day that’s a pleasant cool-off; on a slightly cooler day it can be a bit much. There’s no heated option for the main pool, so the temperature you get is the temperature you get. If you want a warm pool, this isn’t the property for it.
The poolside crowd was a mostly-adult crowd during my stay. There were some families around but the centre of gravity at the main pool is clearly adult, with party-style music and a bar-focused setup.
Food and drink outlets
FIVE Jumeirah Village runs a meaningful F&B operation across several outlets, all on-site. The standout for me was Goose Island, the tap house. Big, loud, lively, with a long list of beers, a pizza menu (the pizza I had was excellent), pool tables, snooker tables, big screens for the football, and a quiz running one of the evenings I was there. Even on a quiet hotel night this place felt busy. Recommended.
Soul Street is the property’s Asian and Mexican street-food outlet, set up to look and feel like a street-food market with a striking central tree feature and an adjacent bar. The floor is a tarmac surface that doesn’t feel especially comfortable underfoot, which is a deliberate choice for the aesthetic but worth mentioning. The location works because Soul Street sits next to the pool, so a poolside-to-dinner pivot is straightforward.
Trattoria is the property’s Italian, with a wood-fired pizza oven on display and a wide outdoor terrace. I wasn’t able to eat there during my stay, but the setup, the oven, and the terrace all read well.
One for the Road is a small café in the lobby for coffee and a quick bite, useful for a morning grab-and-go or a stop on the way back from a meeting.
The Mansion: the nightclub
FIVE Jumeirah Village has an on-site nightclub called The Mansion. I didn’t go in (clubs aren’t my thing, despite my excellent dancing) but I could hear it. The bass is meaningful. Word from the staff is that it gets going around midnight and runs until about four in the morning, and that it accepts non-residents as well as guests. If you’ve come to FIVE for the nightlife, this is a major draw and the property delivers it.
If you’re a light sleeper, that’s a piece of information worth holding onto. The bass carries.
The rooms
FIVE Jumeirah Village runs a wide range of room types. I was given a tour of three of them during my stay.
Superior Room with Balcony. The base of the room ladder and still genuinely good. A large free-floating bed, a desk with a stool (no back support, so use the lounge chair instead for any real desk work), large TVs on both sides of the bed, plug sockets on both sides of the bed but no USB sockets. The balcony is the standout: large, very high up, and on the 33rd floor where I was, the view is impressive enough that I wasn’t keen on looking straight down. Inside the room there’s a safe, an iron and ironing board, waffle robes, slippers, weighing scales, and tea and coffee facilities with complimentary bottled water. Minibar items are not included. The bathroom has a beautiful freestanding bath, a separate shower with a handheld unit and a rainfall head above, a single-sink vanity with a large mirror (no zoom-in mirror), and the standard handheld bidet attachment by the toilet.
Junior Suite with Pool. The party-piece room type. The living area is generous, with blue suede-style sofas and a large TV, an in-room minibar shop that includes some adult-positioning items (this is FIVE, after all, and the minibar carries a few items you wouldn’t normally find next to the Pringles), a proper kitchen with a large fridge, oven, dishwasher and some storage. The bathroom is a step up from the Superior: a backlit mirror, a freestanding bath, a rainfall and handheld shower, plus the handheld bidet. The bedroom has a proper desk chair, a large TV, safe, weighing scales, waffle robes, slippers, ironing board. The balcony is where this room earns its name. It has a private pool sized for two with a comfortable water temperature, day beds, and additional seating, with views down to JVC and a glimpse of the Palm in the distance. The honest caveat: the balcony is overlooked from above, below, and from the neighbouring rooms. You’re not in total privacy when you’re in the water.
Junior Suite with Hot Tub. Same format as the room above with one significant change: instead of a private plunge pool, the balcony has a hot tub which you fill before each use. Fewer privacy concerns than the pool suite for that reason (the hot tub sits lower in the line of sight), although the balcony overlooks the same JVC view in the other direction. There’s also a slightly unusual fire-escape feature on the balcony that I wasn’t expecting.
The kids’ club and the family pool
FIVE Jumeirah Village does run a kids’ club, complimentary for residents, two hours per day. Two to five year olds need to be supervised by a parent or nanny. Children up to thirteen can stay unsupervised. There’s a PlayStation for older kids and a generous spread of soft toys, and the room itself looked well kept.
Just off the kids’ club is the family pool. During my stay this was closed, with signage citing no lifeguard. A lifeguard was visibly on duty at the time, so the closure may have been a one-off operational decision rather than a permanent thing, but it’s worth flagging. I met a young child in the lift who was clearly disappointed about the pool being closed. If your trip depends on the family pool being open, ring ahead.
The cylindrical building and the corridors
FIVE Jumeirah Village’s signature design is its cylindrical shape, and it’s a genuine double-edged sword. The good side: the building is visible from a distance, the upper floors get unobstructed long city views, and the rooms benefit from being arranged around the perimeter.
The less good side: at ground-floor and lower-floor level, the circular geometry forces some unusually tight corridors between the public areas. A few of them feel back-of-house in character even though they’re guest thoroughfares. You can tell people figure it out and use them, but they don’t read as a designed guest route. Worth mentioning because it shapes the feel of moving around the property in a way you wouldn’t expect from a luxury lifestyle hotel of this rate.
The smoking observation
One observation worth being plain about. I don’t smoke, and FIVE markets itself as a luxury hotel with high standards on rooms. During my stay, I noticed a faint smell of cigarette smoke in some of the bedrooms I was in. Not strong, not in every room, but present in enough rooms to be a real observation rather than a one-off. Smoking is also prevalent in some of the public areas. To a UK guest used to a near-zero-smoking norm in hotels, this is more noticeable than it would be to a guest used to other markets.
If a strictly smoke-free room is essential, ask explicitly at booking and at check-in, and be ready to ask for a swap if you’re unhappy with what you walk into.
What I liked and what I didn’t
What I liked. The staff (Yougharta on the front desk, Benjamin on security, the porter on day one, all warm and genuinely welcoming). The upgrade I was given. The room quality across all three types I saw, particularly the private-pool suite. The food and drink outlets, especially Goose Island and Soul Street. The poolside party vibe at the main pool. The lobby and the way the property feels alive in the evenings.
What I didn’t like. The faint smell of cigarette smoke in some bedrooms. The cylindrical building’s back-of-house feeling corridors at ground level. The chilly main pool when the sun isn’t fully out. The closed family pool during my stay. The privacy on the private-pool suite balcony being lower than I’d expect. The fact that the property tilts more adult-focused than the booking page implied.
Who is this hotel for?
Couples and solo travellers. The best fit. The pool scene, the food outlets, the nightclub, the bar, and the room quality (especially the suite tiers with a private pool or hot tub) all read as built for adult travellers. A weekend or short city break here as a couple makes obvious sense.
Business travellers. Strong second fit. Good central JVC location, a desk in even the Superior room, fast service at the front desk, easy taxis, a workable lobby for casual meetings, and a serious gym (FIVE Hotels do not skimp on gyms). Goose Island works for an informal post-meeting dinner. For a short stay tied to meetings in JVC, Marina, Internet City, or Media City, this is a practical pick.
Families. Possible, with eyes open. The kids’ club is real and complimentary, the family pool exists when it’s open, the suite tiers can accommodate a family comfortably, and the food outlets cover a range. But the centre of gravity of this hotel is adult: pool-party atmosphere at the main pool, a busy nightclub on site, smoking in public areas, and a few in-room minibar items that lean adult. If you want a Dubai resort built around families with a kids’ club at the heart of the operation, look at the more family-focused Dubai properties first.
Party guests. Strong fit if you want the nightclub on site, the bar scene built in, and the loud pool day-into-evening. The Mansion is a destination in its own right.
FAQ
The verdict: Stay or Stay Away?
Stay. FIVE Jumeirah Village is exactly what it advertises: a high-energy, adult-focused luxury lifestyle hotel in central Dubai, with strong rooms, capable F&B, real personality at the front desk and on security, and the unusual cylindrical building that you’ll either love for its city views or find slightly awkward at ground level. The negatives are real but contained, and the positives are stronger. For a couple, a solo traveller, or a short business trip in the JVC area this is an easy recommendation. For a family with young children, consider the more family-focused Dubai properties first.

Forgive the angle but welcome to the 5 Jumeirah village here in Dubai. We’re going to do a full resort report on this property. Behind me you can see some of the fancy cars that they have out front.
I’m just heading towards the entrance and reception. When you stay here you’re going to be welcomed by this very handsome young man here. He’s been looking after us during our stay and he’s done a really really good job.
Does an excellent job of looking after all the guests here. Now there are two entrances but they don’t recommend you use the other one, don’t know why. We’re going to come in here and then wander around to reception.
Reception is not either of these. One is the salon and the other is for tours but we’re going to head around and I’ll show you where reception is. So this is where you’ll be checked in and looked after when first arrive at the property.
There is a small cafe here called One for the Road and I’m going to tell you all about the food and drink in a second but before I do we’re going to head to the pool. But one thing just to note that I really like, there’s another security post here and there’s been another Benjamin. My name’s Benjamin if you don’t know that and he’s a big black man.
He’s very big and muscly, it’s like the black version of me and he’s been doing a great job. Let’s head to the pools right now. So I’m out by the pool now where the vibes are vibing if we can say that.
There’s lots of seating and a few deck chairs out here as well as a few cabanas. There’s Mimi’s bar, Mimi’s pool bar here staffed by these gentlemen and here is the pool. The music is loud, the sun is hot, the drinks are flowing.
The pool however is chilly. It is a cold pool. I like the cool water especially on a on a hot day but be warned if the sun is shining it’s all right but if it’s a little bit chilly then not as much.
But yeah, really cool vibe out here on the poolside at the 5 Jumeirah Village. Just one funny thing that I really want to show you is, look at the there’s a bath. Someone’s bath is there and I don’t think there’s any blinds.
They’re just in the bath watching other people bathe and there you go. So yeah, really cool vibe here at the pool, the party atmosphere. I have seen some kind of yeah older family here but it is really focused on adults for this element here at the pool at 5 Jumeirah Village.
So something quite strange about this property is these little tight corridors to get to places like this is a main thoroughfare. I think it’s because of the circular design maybe they retrofit these things in but you feel like you’re not supposed to be walking along here like it’s back of house but it works people figure it out. But we’re just heading towards Goose Island, the Tap House.
This is one of the main food and drink outlets, one I’d recommend. I had a pizza in here the other night and it’s fantastic. They do an evening event here every evening.
We saw a quiz going on when we were in here. Yeah really nice vibe. As I say it is a tap house so lots of beer available.
This is at lunchtime right now so some football on. Just want to show you there are some pool tables. I’ve just said pool and there might be snooker tables.
Hold up. Yeah snooker tables. Yeah nice relaxed vibe here even in the evenings and it can get busy.
You know the hotel’s not very busy during our stay but it was, I’m going to say it was you know packed. I mean all of these tables and chairs were taken. All of them and people were having a really good time having fun.
So yeah that’s Goose Island. Probably the biggest of the food outlets here at 5 Jumeirah Village. Let me take you to the next one.
So Soul Street is one of the other food and drink outlets. You’ve got this tarmac floor. Not, doesn’t feel too good on your feet and I’m going to get checked in now.
Hello I’m just in 2612. Yes thank you. So here is Soul Street.
Nice bar. Saw a few people out in here working and yeah pretty good vibes. Love the tree.
The food is focused on street food vibes from Asia and Mexico with a really good selection and is just adjacent to the pool if you want to head on out there afterwards. One of the food options here is Trattoria. We have wood-fired pizza.
Hello sir. You can see the oven just there. It is lunchtime right now but yeah no one here just yet.
Wonderful terrace outside as well but yeah nice tables and I’m sure the food is delicious. Not been able to dine here myself yet but yeah good option if you’re staying here at the 5 Jumeirah Village. Now there is a nightclub here called The Mansion and whilst I haven’t been in I’ve heard it because the bass coming from it is mega.
I’m a fantastic dancer as you I’m sure you can imagine but clubs aren’t for me but if they are for you 5 Jumeirah Village has got you covered with The Mansion. I’m told it gets busy from about midnight and then keeps on going till about four in the morning. Clearly they take non-residents as well and yeah if you want to have a boogie down and a late night drink in somewhere that has horrendously loud music The Mansion is the place to be clearly.
So there are a plethora of room types here at the 5 Jumeirah Village Circle. First I want to show you a superior room with a balcony. So coming into the room we see our large free floating bed there we have a desk with a stool no back support alongside a nice chair there you’ve got a large tv either side of the bed we do have some plugs although no usb sockets.
This balcony is huge and very high up look at that view I’m on the 33rd floor here kind of scary not looking down. Heading back in got that nice tv there in here we have a safe as well as an iron and ironing board in this one we have some waffle one of those things called robes ladies and gentlemen is remembered and then we do have some slippers there as well as some weighing scales if you want to check in with how you’re getting on during your stay maybe after you’ve eaten all of these goodies which unfortunately are not included what is included is the tea and coffee and the water this water bottle being one of two the other being just by the bed there let’s check out the bathroom now ladies and gentlemen I’m going to start with this bath look at this bath wow beautiful almost speechless we do have a shower of course with a handheld unit just here and then a rainfall element above and we do have these toiletries so heading back through we have this large vanity unit just one sink here which is fine we’ve got some towels here it looks like two separate grades you can see the difference in fluffiness there but that’s okay big big mirror no zoom in mirror but that’s okay for me I don’t need it relatively standard affair when we come through to the loo we have the handheld butt wash as my kids call it and everything else that you might need there so that is a superior balcony room here at the Jumeirah Village Circle 5 so now we’re in a junior suite with pool here at the 5 Jumeirah Village we’ve got this wonderful lounge area here with these blue suede like sofas and a lovely tv we have our snacks here unfortunately not included interestingly there is some very spicy things maybe not suitable for a family booby tape silicon nipple covers any body we have this wonderful kitchen here which has a large fridge again with some goodies available for purchase we do have a oven bin under here dishwasher under here and a little bit of storage before we go into the bedroom I’m going to show you this bathroom we’ve got a vanity unit here with the backlit mirror the single basin one of these little zoom in mirrors a wonderful freestanding bath here with a shower with that rainfall element the handheld and those toiletries the toilet a relatively standard affair but it does have the butt wash the handheld butt wash ladies and many so we’ve got a lovely large mirror here as we come into this bedroom a decent size desk with a proper chair just there we’re going to take you out onto that balcony in a second look at the size of that tv wonderful safe in here weighing scales waffle robes slippers ironing board and then the party piece ladies and gentlemen is this balcony with a pool out here the water is exactly the right temperature you want a little bit cool you’ve got these day beds more seating out here now unfortunately you don’t get all the privacy that you might otherwise want here because people can see from both up there down there and then your neighbors just here can also see and then you’ve got this view down to jvc and you can just see the palm in the distance there that is a suite with a pool here at v5 village circle so now very quickly a junior suite with a hot tub it’s very similar to the other room that i’ve already shown you apart from we have a little cheetah there heading through as i say the format exactly the same apart from when you come out to the balcony there is no pool and instead a hot tub here which you fill up and make use of uh not as easy actually a fire escape there bizarrely but uh yeah again views out looking the other way from this room it’s still beautiful uh uh views hope you didn’t see that there was a man with his butt out uh underneath which is exactly what i was saying about the privacy oh dear well hopefully i didn’t get that on camera if i did i’ll blur it out but yeah there was a man with his bum out uh and a young lady with him so there you go lol okay so there you go a hot tub junior suite here at the five jumeirah village circle so at the five jumeirah village there is a kids club it is complimentary two hours per day if you’re a resident here two to five year olds you need to be supervised let me show you here and kids up to 13 can come in as i say complimentary you’ve got your playstation there for the older ones lots of soft toys yes if you’re two to five you need to be supervised either with your parent or your nanny and then uh yeah up to 13 you can come in on suit of unsupervised and that is the kids club here at the five jumeirah village so just off the kids club we do have the family pool closed right now i met a little boy in the lift he was really unhappy about the pool being closed i don’t know why it’s closed the sign says no lifeguard and there is a lifeguard right there but yeah a separate pool for kiddos and families which is most welcome here at the five jumeirah village alongside all the pools and the food and drink outlets we do have some retail elements as well as this barbershop located in the lobby so it’s time for my stay or stay away rating for the five jumeirah village i’ve had a great time here but i want to tell you a bit about some of the things i haven’t liked as well as the things i have liked and some of these are double-edged swords like the circular design of this property it is a cylindrical design which leads to loads of interesting design quirks i mentioned those weird corridors down there on the ground floor and that kind of comes throughout the building with really weird bits and bobs but it’s a quirk and the the building is noticeable from a distance i mean you can see it’s a very tall building stands out in the skyline and you can see it from a distance away see a good and a bad thing there now this property is more adult focused than i might have initially realized when booking it you know there is a lot going on in the evenings that family pool was closed during the stay there was no kids in the kids club but you know don’t necessarily let you put that you know let it put you off if you’re here with the family but i think it is more adult focused than some other hotels and resorts and one area where that does come across is smoking smoking prevalent a lot of the areas and you know that that does stand out to someone from the uk and a hotel operator especially when you get that slight whiff of smoke in your bedroom i don’t smoke but there is a smell of smoke in some of the bedrooms that i’ve been in so some of the positives some of the staff have been great we had a guy called um yog harter who booked us in and did a really good job including getting this upgrade to this room um for very very little uh indeed i really appreciate that benjamin that security guard um the wonderful porter that i showed you when i was uh welcoming you to the video loads of great team members who do a really good job to make you feel welcome you know they give you a smile they really do welcome and it’s hospitality um yeah really really really good um and um yeah we’ve had a good uh time here i’ve enjoyed the bedrooms um enjoyed the food um everything has been very good so let me give you that stay or stay away rating i think you know what i’m gonna say ladies and gentlemen the five jamiro village is indeed a stay and yeah you should definitely consider it especially if it’s just a couple but even with a family you’re going to be more than welcome here at the five jamiro village this has been the resort report
